2007/08
Cedar Bridge School is a Waldorf initiative based upon the principles of education indicated by Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher, scientist and educator. We are a new initiative member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America. WECAN is a worldwide organization that guides and supports our school.

Prices listed are for the 10-MONTH payment option.
Tuition fees include a healthy well-balanced snack. The majority of the snack foods are organic.
|An annual supply fee is paid separately at the beginning of the term.

Our mixed age Preschool/Kindergarten program will be for children aged 3 to 6. The program runs mornings from Monday through Thursday, September to June, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for the preschool children and from 9:00 to 12:45 pm for the Kindergarten children. The beautiful classroom is a nurturing home-like setting full of natural play materials.
 Daycare is also available as a before and
aftercare for the Preschool/Kindergarten
program. This program provides a restful and
supportive environment based on Waldorf
daycare principles. The daycare is available
from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Each day the children’s senses and imagination are enlivened, their will and memory strengthened, and their attention and fine motor skills enhanced in preparation for the lower grades program. The weekly rhythm may also include painting, baking, nature walks through the forest and grounds, and visits to the farm. Festivals, including each child’s birthday, are celebrated in the class, creating treasured memories and rhythms within the year.
Parents are supported in parenting by regular parent evenings and weekly gatherings throughout the year. Parents are warmly invited to participate in evenings and gatherings as involvement in these sessions is an integral part of the program and attendance is expected.
Preschool and Kindergarten-aged children are placed together in one class creating a family environment. We require an annual contractual commitment and an interview with parents and child is part of the admissions process.
TUITION
There are three options available to pay tuition – ANNUAL, 10-MONTH, 12-MONTH (divides the tuition for the 10 month program over 12 months). All pro-rated options must be paid by post-dated cheques. The 12-MONTH payment schedule begins July 1st. Please make cheques payable to The Bridge Educational Society.
FAMILY DISCOUNTS
A family with 2 or more students registered with Cedar Bridge School will receive a sibling discount according to the following schedule:
2nd child enrolled in school no discount
3rd child enrolled in school 15% discount
4th child enrolled in school 15% discount
SOCIETY MEMBERSHIPS
Families are encouraged to join “The Bridge” Educational Society. A family membership costs $15.00 and includes
an annual subscription to the publication on Waldorf education “Renewal” and one vote at the AGM held in
October. A second subsequent membership may be held by a family member at an additional cost of $5.00 to allow
two votes for the family.
STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT
An interest charge of 2% per month may be applied to outstanding amounts after 30 days. Payment may be made by cheque, cash or automatic withdrawal. It is expected that accounts will be paid on time. Overdue accounts put undue stress on the operation and finances of the school.
The school has many expenses of a continuing nature, such as faculty salaries and school maintenance. In order to plan and maintain these services over the entire school year, it is essential that the annual revenue from fees be assured. For this reason, students are enrolled for the entire school year or such portion as may remain after the date of entrance. The fact that the fee is paid in instalments does not constitute a fractional contract.
WITHDRAWL
The financial contract commences on July 1. After the commencement of classes ninety days written notice is required. In the event a child is withdrawn without the required ninety days notice the responsible party(ies) will be required to pay the outstanding fees to cover the ninety-day withdrawal notice period. This applies whether the student is withdrawn by parents or dismissed by the school. This requirement will be waived in the event the reasonf for withdrawal is of a confirmed medical nature.
The ninety-day withdrawal notice does not apply to new students during the mandatory six-week probationary period, including any extensions. The teacher and the parent(s) must agree to an extension to this probationary period in writing in advance.
